We, the People of the Big 12 Fantasy Football League, in order to Promote a more perfect game, Disregard domestic tranquility, Scout obscure players in faraway places, Spend inordinate amounts of money on newsstand sports magazines with questionable value, Peer endlessly over columns of stats, and Curse inaccurate injury reports, hereby establish this Constitution as the Official Rulebook for Fantasy Football play.
I. Teams

There are 12 teams in one league.

II. League Operation
The season lasts from Week 1 to Week 17 of the NFL's regular season. You play every team in the league one time, and 3 teams twice.
The league is based on an overall win/loss record. Weeks 15-17 are playoffs.

North Playoff Explanation:
Top 2 teams (based on record) will be seeded 1st and 2nd and receive a 1st round bye.
3 and 4 seeds are selected based on next best record.
2 wildcard teams are also selected (based on total pts). They are seeded 5 and 6.
* If there is a tie on total points for the wildcard positions, tie-breaker rules are outlined below.

Tie-breaker method for playoff seedings (if between 2 teams).
1) Team that won regular season series holds tie-breaker (head to head)
2) If series is tied 1-1, overall total pts will be used to break tie.
3) If total pts are the same, tie breaker will be the team with best all league play record.
Tie-breaker method for playoff seedings (if more than 2 teams involved).
1) Overall total pts will be used to break tie.
2) If pts are exactly same, tie breaker will be best all league play record.
3) If all league play record is the same, the team(s) entering playoffs on longest current winning streak will get in.
Tie-breaker method during playoff games.
North:
1) Highest scoring bench player or position
2) Regular season overall record
3) Regular season head to head winner
Playoff Schedule:
Round 1 (week 15): 3 vs. 6, 4 vs. 5
Round 2 (week 16): 1 vs. 4 or 5; 2 vs. 3 or 6
Finals (week 17)
*All weekly scores are not final (official) until Thursday morning after the NFL updates and corrects statistics.
III. Player Draft
A. Information: North draft will be held on the last Saturday in August.
B. The draft order for the north is determined by drawing numbers at the annual pre-draft party (Saturday in June or July).
C. Owners build their team through a traditional snake draft. Draft picks in odd numbered rounds are selected in the order of 1 through 12. Even numbered rounds are reversed and selected 12 down to 1. For example, the owner who gets the 1st overall pick in the draft would also get the 24th and 25th picks. Likewise, the owner with the 12th overall pick would also get the 13th draft pick.
D. The draft consists of 16 rounds. Once a draft selection has been presented to the Commissioner, it cannot be rescinded. (There will be no time limit enforced unless voted for on a majority rules basis).
E. You may franchise one player (def team/def player can count) each season. The player must be drafted by you in the 7th round or later to be kept one additional season (kept a maximum of 2 total seasons). He must be on your roster at conclusion of season (but can be dropped and picked back up by you during the season). If you trade player you cannot franchise him unless you get back later. If you choose to keep the player, it will take the place of that particular round pick the next year (north league). A franchise player CAN be banned the following year with good reason subject to a majority vote. A franchise player can be any position.
F. Owner unable to be present on draft day.
If you cannot be present for whatever reason an owner has the following options:
1. You can submit a pre draft list (round by round) such as ranking your players or have your team auto picked based on the next highest available player.
2. You can have someone represent you as a stand in but they must not be from either the north or south league. We all should have friends or family we can pick that are not in one of our leagues already.
3. In the rare event that you are out of town but have access to a computer and can keep up as we draft live, you can use your pc to draft or the app on your phone. We aren't going to wait more than a couple of minutes for you to pick when it's your turn.
IV. Rosters
A. The maximum roster is 16 players.
B. Each roster must consist of the following: 1 QB, 2 RB, 1 TE, 3 WR, 1 K, 1 DF/PY, and 1 DF/TM. There are 6 extra positions on the roster. These players may be from any position.
C. The final say on roster/position eligibility will be what position the player is listed as on Myfantasyleague.
V. Starting Lineups
A. Starting lineups consist of the following:
1 QB, 1 RB, 1 TE, 2WR, 1 K, 1 DF/PY, 1 DF/TM, and 1 Flex Pos player
Flex starter each week can be RB, WR, or TE
B. The deadline for submitting starting lineups is 5 minutes before the kickoff of that particular players game.
C. Regular Starting Lineup: You are responsible for submitting a starting lineup each week. If an owner fails to submit a lineup for a certain week, the lineup from the previous week will be used. If you have a player off (or injured) that week it is the owners responsibility to let me know.
D. Inactive Player Policy: There is no longer a substitution or highest drafted player rule.
VI. Transactions / Trades
1. Free agents may be obtained if an owner waives a player.
2. For a transaction to be valid, the owner must notify the Commissioner or log into the website to complete the roster move.
3. No league voting for trades. If both agree commish will be notified and process trade.
4. Once a transaction has been made, it cannot be rescinded.
5. You may make only 3 transactions per week (releasing a player and resigning another counts as 1).
Trades do not count against your weekly moves.
There are Thursday games which makes the weekly moves somewhat confusing. For our purposes the week starts on Sundays which means between Sunday-Sunday you can only make 3 moves. The maximum # of moves that can be made in a 7 day period is 3.
6. There is no limit on the numbers of trades but you cannot trade a player back to the the original owner. *No temporary trades.. No more than 3 players can be traded at a time to another team. The trade deadline for the North is the kickoff of Week 10. The trade deadline for the South is the kickoff of Week 12.
7. Players may be waived at any time for any reason. When a player is waived, he becomes available in the free agent pool. He can then be re-acquired or acquired by another team beginning the next day (24 hour lock).
8. Transactions: Each week, beginning Sunday after the first game of the day starts, through Wednesday 9:00 pm,owners who wish to make a transaction may put in their waiver wire request online. Keep in mind that if you decide you want a player you are not necessarily going to get him. Someone else may put in a request for the same player later that day or later in the week.
Waiver order is no longer based on win-loss record. If more than 1 owner wants a player, the rolling waiver wire order will kick in. The initial week 1 order is reverse of the draft order. If you do not put in a waiver claim request for a few weeks you will keep moving to the top of the list since others have made moves.
Once a player is acquired via a trade or free agency, he cannot be traded for at least 1 full week. (Can't play the same week acquired on another fantasy team). You can, however, drop the player sooner than 1 week.
Beginning Wednesday evening at 9 pm, waiver wire system will become first come, first serve. This means between Wednesday night through Sunday 12:00 pm, there is no waiver wire order used. Owners can add/drop as they wish.
You can also add/drop players on game days up until kickoff (3:00 pm Sundays)
9. Making moves is now allowed in the playoffs just like the regular season (north).

After waivers process Wed night, the rest of the week is first come first serve but you still have to contact me (not use the system). At this time waiver order doesn’t matter.
You can make roster moves throughout entire season including fantasy teams not in the playoffs.
Click here if you need assistance making waiver moves on the MFL site.
VII. Injured Reserve
Two spots.
VIII. League Governance
The Commissioner is vested with the following powers:
a) interpret the Constitution as he sees just and fit
b) settle all position eligibility disputes
c) preside over draft and settle draft disputes
d) distribute free agents fairly
e) provide timely weekly reports
f) maintain integrity of the league and its owners
g) approve all transactions
IX. Extraordinary Situations
1. Amendments to the Constitution are allowed. For an amendment to be passed, 2/3 of the league owners & Commissioner must approve.
2. If an owner is considered by the Commissioner to be conducting himself in a manner not in the best interest of the league, he may be removed. However, a warning is issued first. If the warning fails and 2/3 of the league recommends the owner to be removed he can be dismissed.
This league was founded on the idea of conducting our game of Fantasy Football at a very competitive level. Each team owner is a major part of this process and is essential in making the league a success.

The Survivor Game-
Each week, the owner with the fewest points will be eliminated from the contest. The contest will span from Week 1 to Week 11. Once youve been eliminated, you are out for good. Therefore, if you score the fewest points in a week, but have already been eliminated, the person with the next fewest points is eliminated. The tie breaker for a particular week if needed will be owner with lowest overall total pts for the season who gets eliminated.
Last one standing wins.
See partial example below:
Week 1: Patrick scores the fewest pts. and is eliminated ( 11 left)
Week 2: Ernie scores the fewest pts. and is eliminated ( 10 left)
Week 3: Anthony scores the fewest pts. and is eliminated ( 9 left)
Week 4: Gary scores the fewest pts, but is already out.
The person with the 2nd fewest pts. is eliminated ( 8 left)
